Fun story: so last January my roommate and I went to visit the New Bedford Whaling Museum so I could do Research TM and look at some cool pictures of boats (if you’re ever in the area, definitely recommend). Anyways, we went on a Sunday (after a long story involving a missed Saturday bus and meandering aimlessly around Boston for the entire day), and so by the time we got out of the museum, at like, 4 pm, everything was closed. Like, I guess that’s just a Massachussetts thing I’m not aware of? to have everything close early on Sunday? Anyway, our bus wasn’t until much later, like 7 or 8pm...so, like Ishmael, she and I were left wandering around New Bedford in the cold, dark winter looking for a place to stay (unlike Ishmael, we found a dunkin donuts). Felt good, felt organic.

Man, looking back at these first pages, Ishmael is so much sadder ghlskjgjksg, it's really neat how once Queequeg enters his life, he and the whole comic feel so much brighter. I'm ;-;
