SOOOO we’re finally at the start of the Sunset/Dusk sequence!!! Two of my favorite chapters in the book and pages that I’ve been excited to get to and draw literally since I first scripted them years ago. Ough. I love these chapters so much. Angsty Ahab time.

Beautifully painted!!!! The deep glowing teal and red-orange, and the glimmering white highlights... loveliness indeed! But not for Ahab :,(

SAHAR i let out a physical GASP when this page loaded !!! IT LOOKS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE the colors THE BLUE AND ORANGE (throughout these years i realized i have a thing for the blue/orange combo lmao) THE LITERAL WHITE AND TURBID WAKE !!! (it looks realistic) the shimmerrrr on the waves (bless sparkle brushes) THE SUNSET?? THE REALISTIC WAVES AND THE LIGHT/SUN RAYS REFLECTING ON THE WATER?? you are absolutely in the right to show off when painting water BC IT ACTUALLY IS STUNNING !!! and ofc ofc poor angsty emo ahab all by himself in the cabin <//3

also i’ve seen someone mention this so i just want to ask but was it intentional that ahab is positioned in the wake? like the panels make it that he is aligned with the white from the previous panel soooo i wanted to know your thoughts!!! thanks ^-^
