Sort of begs the question why Peleg, who clearly knows Something is up with Ahab (I mean, who wouldn’t be at least the slightest bit traumatized from being thrust immediately back into an inherently violent and extremely dangerous occupation which just cost you your leg), is still so adamant about sending him out again so soon. (i mean, yes, capitalism, but you know. carry on)

Absolutely agreed. Did Peleg just want to go with someone he knew? Were none of his other contacts ashore in time for the Pequod's next scheduled departure? What a terrible thing to do to someone you claim to respect, to use them so carelessly.
(Hi, I'm Fidele/Penlo, I'm new here, and I absolutely adore this comic!)
