Hello, friends! Thank you all for reading! I’m just here to let you all know that Moby Dick will be going on a short break for the holidays! I’ll see you all again on January 8th with page 45.
This past semester has been pretty rough, and I’ve eaten a considerable amount into my buffer. While I still do have a decent amount of pages completed, for my sanity’s sake I think it’ll be best for me to take a couple of weeks off of updates where I can just build that buffer back up again.
In the meantime, I’ll try and post some filler art on the off weeks, so if you have questions you want to ask of the cast (or of me!) leave them down below or on my IG!
I’ll also probably be giving my Patreon a do-over, so feel free to check me out there for updates a few weeks ahead, page WIPs, and whatever other goodies I come up with over the break.
That’s all, friends! Happy holidays! Leave your questions for the Pequod Squad below, and see you in the new year!

Hey, enjoy your break! You've earned it. Looking forward to the bonus art :)
I'm digging this very stark white interior, kind of a bleached bones effect, which seems appropriate.

What are peleg and bildad referring to when they say the seven hundredth and seventy seventh or “putting him down for three-hundredth”? I haven’t read the book in a while.

They're referring to the three hundredth or 777th "lay," or portion of the profits of the ship! so if you have the 300th lay you'd get 1/300th of the profit the ship makes in that voyage

I meant to actually talk about it in the comments of this page, but the break came up instead -- but basically the tl;dr is whaler's wages were ASS and most of the profits went to the shipowners (because, you know, capitalism)

question for ishmael: i hate how casually you hint at having been a schoolmaster without any elaboration. what was that like? were you any good at it? any funny anecdotes?

question for queequeg: what is the dumbest thing you have seen your husband do and how much more did it make you fall in love with him

question for ahab and starbuck: tell me about your wives and sons and nobody gets hurt

another question for starbuck: can i give you a hug?

questions!

semi-serious question for queeshmael: can you adopt me?

actual question for queeshmael: do you think that you met each other at the right moment? if not, what would you change?

question for pip even tho he ain't here yet lmao: anything you want to say about the crew while they aren't around to judge? (also can I be your friend?-)

question for the artist: hey do you know you are absolutely awesome and talented? bc you are

Also I forgot to post this one lmaooo but another question for you! How many chapters/divisions do you plan to have? Like if Chapter 1 is from the beginning until I'm assuming right at the start of their voyage, how many chapters is this gonna be? Thanks!
